Rene Magritte created this surrealist painting in 1934, and by looking at this picture you can see why he faced a lot of critisim during his career. He was famous for placing various different objects together to make one picture. In this he placed female parts to create a face, and i thought this was pretty clever. If you looked at it from far away you wouldnt be able to tell what it really is. I think Magritte is one of my favorite surrealist painters because he really thought "out of the box" to create his art.
