Swans Reflecting Elephants
Swans reflecting elephants is a painting by Salvador Dali. It was made in 1937 and is oil on canvas. Dali painted this during his paranoic-critical period. In this painting there is a self portrait of Dali and swans looking in a pond with a distorted image to look like elephants. I think this painting is very interesting because of the images he placed in it and the colors he used. I also think it is interesting because he is expressing his feelings about the surrealist movement and the type of audience it was attracting. This painting is called swans reflecting elephants but has an underlying meaning so much more.
