Portrait of Ambroise Vollard (Pablo Picasso)

With the use of geometric shapes, Pablo Picasso developed the movement of Cubism and the portrait of Ambroise Vollard is an example of that famous movement and expression of art. The monochromatic painting is the portrait (Buddha-like) of an important French dealer who provided exposure and emotional support to many artists like Cezanne, Picasso, Gauguin, Van Gogh etc... also known as an art collector and publisher. The artist uses one set of colors with the use of back and white for shadows and brightness.
