Trans flux is an 8 foot acrylic painting done by artist, Kenneth Noland. This 1963 painting is in multiple museums today such as the guggenheim in New York. The price ranges from $100,000-$150,000. Kenneth Noland was one of the best-known American Color field painters, although in the 1950s he was thought of as an abstract expressionist and in the early 1960s he was thought of as a minimalist painter. All of his paintings are simple shapes and very few bold colors. the reason i chose this painting because it stands out to me- not as a good painting but it makes me wonder why this painting is so expensive when it is so simple and easy to replicate.i really dont see anything special about this painting.
